This Junior Has a Discovery, a District Scale Land Package, and a 2026 Drill Season That Could Change Everything
One of the more interesting early setups we’ve seen in a while, with a busy season ahead.

Truthfully, I wasn’t planning to do a single pick article this week. But after going down the rabbit hole on one story we’ve been watching, it became pretty obvious it needed the full treatment. It’s also one of the few names that showed serious strength through the recent metals pullback, which tells you there’s demand sitting under it.
They’ve already checked one of the hardest boxes an explorer needs to check, and now they’re stepping into the phase where things can speed up. Fresh money coming in, multiple zones starting to show what they could be, and a 2026 program that’s going to tell us how big this really is. I lay out the whole setup, what we like, what risks are still there, and what we need to see next.
I’m going to try to keep this as digestible as possible, so stay with me. I truly think it’ll be worth it.
Kingfisher Metals Corp.

Kingfisher is a copper gold explorer in the Golden Triangle, built around a huge district scale land package called HWY 37. They rank 4th in total tenure across the Golden Triangle and Toodoggone, which is pretty wild for a company this size. And if you know the region, you already know the kind of operators nearby, Newmont, Teck, Skeena, Centerra. The risk is still high because it’s early, but what’s changed is the project is starting to show multiple centres, not one. Right now, the story comes primarily down to two zones, Hank and Williams.
Hank
Hank is the reason this story can genuinely re rate. For years, Hank was mainly thought of as shallow gold silver mineralization near surface. The 2025 program was about answering a bigger question: is there a copper gold porphyry underneath it that can actually support scale. Hole HW 25 011 gave the first real proof. It hit 425.0 metres of 0.40% copper equivalent from 534 m to 959 m depth, and it did not fade out at the bottom. It finished with copper grades increasing, which is exactly what you want to see if you are trying to vector toward a stronger part of the system on follow up.
It is also worth being honest about what that number is. 0.40% CuEq is not high grade. The point is the geometry and the consistency. A blind target, more than 400 metres of continuous mineralization, and a hole that ends improving, not dying. That is how these bigger porphyry stories often start. You are not trying to “one hole” the deposit. You are proving the system exists, then stepping toward the core.
Another reason Hank stands out is the sheer size of the system they are working around. The altered rock at Hank stretches for kilometres, roughly 6 km by 6 km. Think of alteration as the “footprint” left behind when hot fluids move through the rock and change it. You do not get that kind of footprint from a tiny, isolated target. It usually means there is a large mineralized system at depth, and there is room for more than one centre.
For 2026, the target area they are stepping into is also big, roughly 1,750 m long by 900 m wide. Nobody drills that entire box in one season, but it tells you how much runway there is for follow up. They are also stacking new datasets that should tighten up where the next holes go, including more IP work and the full airborne EM results once the detailed processing is finished.
You can sanity check the “long and steady” intercept style by looking at other Golden Triangle porphyry stories. GT Gold’s Saddle North had early drilling with the same general look, long copper plus gold intervals that did not scream on grade, but helped turn Tatogga into a real story. Even the monster camps rarely impress on grade when you zoom out. KSM is a perfect example where the point is the size of the system, not some jaw dropping number per metre.
Now, with Hank putting the deeper system on the table, Williams reads as the added support that this project can deliver broad porphyry style mineralization in more than one place.
Williams
Williams has already done a lot of the work you want an early porphyry target to do. It has shown long, continuous copper equivalent mineralization starting right from surface, which is the style that usually points to a big bulk tonnage system rather than a narrow, hit or miss vein story. The January 2026 update is the cleanest snapshot of that. HW 25 008 ran 889.35 metres of 0.47% CuEq from surface, and HW 25 010 ran 721.7 metres of 0.46% CuEq from surface. Those are massive lengths, and the consistency is the point. Even if the grade is not “wow,” the geometry starts to hint at something you can keep drilling into and keep finding.
At the same time, Williams is probably not the standalone prize that carries the whole company. It looks like a meaningful porphyry body, but it is not the kind of scale that automatically turns into a takeout story by itself. Where it gets useful is in how it fits into a bigger development picture. If Hank keeps growing into the main engine at depth, Williams can end up being a second centre that adds tonnage and flexibility, especially with mineralization starting at surface and running for those kinds of lengths.
That is why Williams is a big part of why HWY 37 feels like more than a single target bet. Hank is the swing that can force a rerate on its own if follow up drilling walks into the core. Williams is the extra support that shows this property is capable of delivering broad porphyry style mineralization in more than one place, which makes the overall setup harder to dismiss as a one zone story carrying the whole valuation.
Additional Targets
Hank and Williams are the focus, but they are not the whole story. HWY 37 sits on a long mineralized trend, and there are multiple other targets on the same corridor that already have meaningful intercepts.
Hank and Williams are the core of the story today, but the bigger setup is that these are not isolated hits. Kingfisher is outlining a 12 km long porphyry epithermal corridor where multiple targets already show mineralization.
Mary is the cleanest example of why this corridor framing helps. It sits along the same trend and already has a long copper gold intercept on the board. It gives you another porphyry style datapoint in the district that is not dependent on Hank step outs working immediately. If you are trying to build a district scale story, you want more than one place where copper and gold show up together over real lengths, and Mary checks that box.
Rainbow and Cliff are smaller in the current narrative, but they round out the picture in a useful way. Rainbow shows there are additional gold plus copper occurrences sitting on the same belt, and Cliff adds a copper moly signal, which is common in porphyry districts and fits the idea that the system has multiple centres with slightly different expressions. None of these need to be “the next Hank” today. Their value is that they add more confirmed mineralized points along the same 12 km trend, which gives the company more than one legitimate direction to keep proving scale.
All of this crammed into a ~$68M company, what a gift.
What’s Next
What’s next comes down to three workstreams, all aimed at tightening the picture and getting more clean shots on target.
First is follow up drilling at Hank. The next holes are not about repeating HW 25 011. They are about stepping the drill back toward where the core should sit and seeing if the grade and intensity climb while the widths stay big. That is the entire game with a blind porphyry discovery. You prove it exists, then you start vectoring with purpose.
Second is the gold sitting above and around Hank, which is where they can build a lot of momentum without needing every hole to be deep. A lot of the historical drilling up there was shallow and widely spaced, and plenty of holes ended while still carrying gold. With LiDAR and updated structural modelling, they can target the fault intersections and open zones that tend to host better shoots, plus tighten the spacing across that long gold trend. If that starts to look continuous and sizeable, it becomes a meaningful second layer to the story rather than a side note.
Third is target refinement across the wider district using the new geophysics. More IP coverage is coming, and the airborne EM is still being fully processed, which should help map features in 3D and guide where to drill beyond the obvious Hank step outs. That also feeds into secondary targets like Rainbow where cover can hide mineralization and the first pass drilling can be relatively straightforward.
Final Thoughts
Now I do realize presenting this stock to you that is up 175% in the past month might seem ridiculous. If I had a crystal ball and knew the Hank discovery was coming, trust me, life would be easier. But I also can’t ignore the strength KFR has been showing lately.
Throughout this recent metals sell off, KFR has been incredibly resilient and even finished green on the day that gold and copper fell 9% and 5%. The buyers are there and they are hungry.
Another signal showing the sheer demand is the bought deal they just upsized from $20M to $25M a day later. No LIFE, no warrants needed.
Deal is expected to close at the start of March and it will leave them with a whole lot of fire power to put towards drilling this year.
